American Red Cross (Bay Area) – Since 1985
2009 – Haiti – Advisor for public awareness and raising funds for ARC.
2005 – Katrina – Ran local publicity regarding the needs in New Orleans. Out of frustration I went out on my own, on behalf of ARC, and worked with Rancho Nicasio, the Chamber of Commerce, Larkspur Landing, and many local businesses and raised $30,000 in two weeks for the San Rafael ARC chapter.
1999 – September 11 – Worked on a local level managing the ARC Bay Area Blood Campaign.
1995 – Monterey Floods – 24/7 managing all media coverage from CNN to local radio and television while protecting shelters from media encroachment.
1991 – Oakland Firestorm – Managed the interaction with the media and information dissemination through the ARC Disaster Communications Task Force.
1989 – San Francisco Earthquake – Worked with media as a representative of ARC.
1985-1989 - Board Member/PR Director Golden Gate Chapter.

TechSoup (A CompuMentor Project)
Managed the messaging, strategy, and launch of TechSoup, the first-ever, one-stop resource and technology portal expressly developed for the 1.2 million non-profits for all technical issues from hard, soft and human ware headed by a Host Committee made up of industry/foundation luminaries. Directed the campaign for the Gala Lunch (Hosted by Dr. Eric Schmidt, Chair/CEO Novell, Inc) to secure media coverage and attendee donations. 

 American Cancer Society (Bay Area)
•  As a consultant managed the (Annual) Great American Smoke Out media campaign. Worked with Elihu Harris’s office to re-schedule their first ever nationally smoking ban in public places bill in conjunction with the American Cancer Society Great American Smoke Out in November. Turned it into a photo op at the Mayor’s office with Oakland Supervisors and, in turn, subsequent polls in the next 48 hours showed that awareness about the ill effects of smoking increased by 35%.

•  Asked to serve as PR Director for south Marin Relay for Life. Managed campaign to educate Marin residents and encourage them to participate and donate (during the media blitz that Marin had the highest breast cancer rate in the world). Secured local radio, TV, print and sponsors.

Marin Aids Project
Community outreach through a newsletter I developed and edited.
Advised the board on community outreach and fund-raising strategy.

Marin Professionals
Developed the MP marketing strategy to inform Marin County businesses of the caliber of the membership who were actively pursuing employment in a challenging economy.

The Presidio Trust-At The Presidio (A pilot historic/cultural program arm of the San Francisco Presidio)
Publicity Director and liaison to Presidio Trust board to launch At the Presidio and direct the first-ever museum installation at the renovated Presidio Officer’s Club, Russian Imperial Treasures. Work with the city of San Francisco, other Bay Area museums, and local media to get traction as a destination, a valuable addition to the historic/cultural landscape of the Bay Area and garner interest from local cognoscenci for donations.

Advisory Council on Women – San Mateo County
Appointed Commissioner by the San Mateo County Supervisors.
Work with a council of 12 women to further the interests and issues facing women resident of San Mateo County from the feminization of poverty to domestic violence, education and drug abuse and prevention. I worked hand-in-hand with Planned Parenthood, set up programs for, and gave speeches to underprivileged teens and young women.
